Going into the game Tueday, Sep 1, The ladies had a little bit of anxiety. They weren't sure how they would stack up against other teams in the district and so the confidence was not where it needed to be before the game. However, once the whistle blew, the switch was flipped. They came out playing together and earned a quick goal by Sammy Oseguera in the first 10 minutes of play. Around the 20th minute, the Beavers took a huge loss, losing Lucero Castro out of center defense. Malad put the pressure on for the remainder of the half and created numerous chances but the just couldnt get it in the back of the net. After the injury, the Beavers seemed to play very scrambled. After halftime, they were able to get organized and figured things out once again. The slowed down and played within there abilities. About 10 minutes into the second half, Maddie Wagoner sent a beautiful ball over the top of the "D" line that connected perfectly to Cynthia Castro who hammered the ball far post putting American Falls up 2-0. The remainder of the game was back and forth with both team creating a lot of chances. Jailene Garcia had another standout performance in defense along with Emilia Carrillo. Emilia had to move to center after the injury to Lucero and she did a phenomanal job. The team really showed what they were capable of when they play together. It was an entire team effort.
